As we all know, we humans are lazy. Especially, when it comes to students. If students can find a way to ditch their homework and make fools out of their teachers, they won’t leave it. At least I won’t. At this part of the conversation, AI is introduced. Since we have been introduced to AI things have running too smoothly. There are many things that have eased up with the help of AI. Writing research papers, comparing notes, writing a poem on your hometown, etc. All these works now can be done with the help of AI. Don’t you think creativity is getting lost somewhere because of this?
In the earlier days, I mean when AI was not this reachable, students had to make sure they did all of their home tasks by themselves. Well, some would surely use other ways, like hiring others to do the homework but it wasn’t free. So most of the students wouldn’t pick that way. In those days, creativity was a sure thing. You had to really put your sweat into it. But now things aren’t that hard anymore.
Therefore, I’m not saying that today’s students lack creativity. I’m just saying that things are different now. As most of the assignments can be done through AI, then what is the meaning of giving those assignments in the first place? Solutions have evolved, now it’s time for the questions to be evolved. If that can’t be done, then probably the education world isn’t ready for this AI thing yet.
Now, let’s talk about the bright side. AI is giving students more room to be more efficient in their work as they really don’t need to spend their time on daily assignments anymore. They can use that time for critical thinking, problem-solving, and skill development. But the question arises at this point, how many students will take the good advantage?
